A word on complimenting survivors of breast cancer who have awesome new boobs.

OK so you all know that I love my new boobs. If I was at any time unclear, I LOVE them. I love the way they look. I love the way they feel. I love that my v-neck t-shirts are suddenly a little risqué at work. I also really love that I had to fight for them. I am proud of them.

All that being said, I love getting complimented about them but I wanted to provide a little instructional on how to compliment a cancer survivor who has awesome new boobs. Ok, actually this is just an instructional for me. I am not every person so please don’t use this as a blanket statement for all survivors you meet.

It makes me feel great to hear from friends, loved ones and close cohorts that I am having a good boob day.

It makes me feel itchy to hear from strangers that I am having a good boob day. Don’t do that to strangers. Ever.

It is not now, nor has it ever been ok to ogle, leer or stare at my chest. This goes for all women regardless of circumstance. I know it’s hard to resist. It’s like a visual black hole of awesome but be respectful please.

You are most welcome to feel them ONLY if I invite you to feel them.

It is never ok to grope, fondle or paw. Well that’s true for all but one person.

In summary, I love these new boobs and I fought hard for them. I love hearing that they look good (from people who know me) and every time it gives me just that much more confidence. Keep the praise train rolling!

Hello, Sweetheart- This is brilliant! An excellent product idea! You should quickly copyright it and we’ll publish it as “Instruction Manual for New Boobs”. With ILLUSTRATIONS! Love you so much, Mom
